- 00:26:08 [wmf]
- heh, I just downloaded the source to an app and found one C file and about 17 files worth of auto* garbage
- 00:27:48 [AaronSw]
- was this GNU helloworld?
- 00:28:05 [wmf]
- no, slightly more complex than that
- 00:28:18 [AaronSw]
- GNU hello world is pretty funny, actually
- 00:28:28 [AaronSw]
- oops, it's just GNU hello
- 00:28:38 [AaronSw]
- 'Writing a program that prints "Hello, world!" is the classic beginner's programming task. The GNU version takes this a step further by processing its argument list to modify its behavior, by supporting internationalization, and by including a mail reader; it's a true demonstration of how to write programs that do these things. '
- 00:28:57 [AaronSw]
- "The GNU `hello' program produces a familiar, friendly greeting. It allows nonprogrammers to use a classic computer science tool which would otherwise be unavailable to them. "
- 00:38:13 [AaronSw]
- the shifted librarian has the best rss file, according to google
- 00:40:54 [AaronSw]
- hee:
- 00:40:54 [AaronSw]

- heh, "chronic inability to share credit"
- 00:56:38 [AaronSw]
- you should see his copyright notice!
- 00:57:05 [AaronSw]
- he says that anyone who uses any of the things in the book must give him credit explicitly
- 00:57:26 [wmf]
- that doesn't sound enforceable
- 00:58:01 [AaronSw]
- he said this using only a full page of size 7 type

- <MysticOne> Good morning, everyone. We're testing a new concept here on Open Projects, and we're calling it WOPN ... it's an ogg vorbis stream where we'll play free music, host interviews with people in the community, and all around just have a good time. If you're interested in helping us test it, please stop by #WOPN for links to the servers. The streams are currently up, and we'd love to have you help us test it out.
- 01:16:36 [walloper]
- <MysticOne> Also, if you're a musician or know any who wouldn't mind allowing us to showcase their music for free, please contact me at mysticone@openprojects.net ... we need all the free music we can get, and several contributions have already been made by the Alpha Conspiracy, Pajama Crisis, and Difference Engine. Thanks also to the Ogg Vorbis project for making this possible.
- 01:17:07 [walloper]
- <MysticOne> These are wallops messages, non-critical news and information about the Open Projects Network. If you'd prefer not to receive these messages, simply /mode YourNick -w. Thank you for using the Open Projects Network.

- Sorry. I welcome to your fixing.
- 02:55:50 [deltab]
- * Opinions and impression and operation reports, etc. are welcomed.
- 02:55:50 [deltab]
- The kind of the message board is the crop vagina chestnut. Or,
- 02:57:31 [AaronSw]
- what??
- 02:57:47 [deltab]
- hehe
- 02:58:12 [deltab]
- * There is no manual in which that it waits is also ?
- 02:58:12 [deltab]
- The priority is low coming work schedule.
- 02:58:32 [deltab]
- * There is a want function.
- 02:59:54 [deltab]
- * It is the GUI base.
- 03:00:00 [deltab]
- * The fact is proven in the change of the icon, when there is a

- conversation, when minitualized or, it is hidden Window, ( the
- 03:00:00 [deltab]

- 03:00:03 [deltab]
- so there
- 03:00:22 [AaronSw]
- I've what fact?

- 03:03:14 [deltab]
- It is the GUI base.
- 03:03:24 [AaronSw]
- Oh.
- 03:03:42 [AaronSw]
- hm, maybe ircle will work.
- 03:03:54 [deltab]
- "NARUTO" is the food of Japan. It is steamed-wounded-extended-fish meat
- 03:03:55 [deltab]

- 03:05:53 [deltab]
- ooh, drag and drop
- 03:05:53 [AaronSw]
- Hm, no luck so far. it's got a license agreement with no accept button.
- 03:07:02 [deltab]
- I had plans to do d&d features in my irc client, years ago
- 03:08:02 [AaronSw]
- you had an irc client?
- 03:08:08 [AaronSw]
- Snak has drag and drop, it's very nice
- 03:08:12 [GabeW]
- GabeW has quit ("Client Exiting")
- 03:08:15 [deltab]
- plans for one
- 03:09:01 [deltab]
- there was no readily available TCP/IP for RISC OS at the time though
- 03:09:32 [AaronSw]
- Are you still on RISC OS?
- 03:09:41 [AaronSw]
- what client do you use now?
- 03:09:42 [deltab]
- so I tried implementing that
- 03:09:47 [AaronSw`]
- AaronSw` (~aaronsw@12-249-96-16.client.attbi.com) has joined #swhack
- 03:09:49 [deltab]
- for my end-of-course exam
- 03:10:38 [AaronSw`]
- This client seems a lot more workable.
- 03:11:07 [deltab]
- I haven't particularly used RISC OS in a few years
- 03:11:18 [AaronSw]
- what kind of option is this: "Maximum # of clones on a channel"
- 03:11:36 [deltab]
- not sure
- 03:11:54 [deltab]
- I'm currently using BitchX on Linux
- 03:12:19 [deltab]
- and configuring it again so that it's usable
- 03:12:32 [AaronSw`]
- what were you using before?
- 03:13:10 [deltab]
- earlier tonight, ircii, but before that BitchX
- 03:13:16 [deltab]
- been using that for a while
- 03:13:27 [AaronSw`]
- ah, ok.
- 03:13:31 [deltab]
- over a year
- 03:13:44 [AaronSw`]
- fwiw, i like this deltab better. he's much more responsive ;-)
- 03:14:35 [deltab]
- when I used X, I ran xchat for a while
- 03:14:55 [deltab]
- but I seemed to spend most of my time flipping between pages
- 03:15:35 [deltab]
- each channel had its own page, and only one could be displayed at a time
- 03:16:06 [AaronSw`]
- Yeah, snak striked an interesting balance. Every channel has its own page, but you can tab as many as you want in as many configs as you want
- 03:16:25 [AaronSw`]
- * AaronSw` wonders how to integrate inputline with text window
- 03:16:29 [thelsdj]
- i use ctr+alt+right|left to switch tabs in xchat
- 03:17:40 [AaronSw]
- Hm, think i crashed ircle already
- 03:17:51 [AaronSw]
- that counts it out
- 03:17:53 [thelsdj]
- AaronSw, did you see my insanity about new user interfaces?
- 03:18:03 [AaronSw]
- don't think so
- 03:18:23 [deltab]
- hey, bx scrolls usably quickly on my machine
- 03:18:36 [thelsdj]
- 03:18:41 [deltab]
- if only it could do keyword folding, it's be useful
- 03:18:44 [thelsdj]

- AaronSw` has quit (Remote closed the connection)
- 03:20:01 [deltab]
- thelsdj: reminds me of Lifestreams
- 03:20:11 [deltab]
- at leat, the little I know about that
- 03:20:22 [AaronSw]
- yeah, same here
- 03:20:39 [deltab]
- the descriptive documents about Lifestreams seem to have disappeared
- 03:20:57 [thelsdj]
- is that what it was called?
- 03:21:04 [thelsdj]
- i read some article about this like over a year ago and i could never find it again
- 03:21:39 [AaronSw]
- i wish snak wouldn't crash so much, but the author can't seem to fix anything but reproducable bugs
- 03:21:52 [AaronSw]
- too bad. doesn't seem like there's anything better
- 03:22:23 [AaronSw]
- hm, i wonder if JediKnight's improved at all
