I don't come often ... ahh, a spork can do anything so that means I can assign you everything? 22:07:23 no 22:07:27 damn 22:07:29 My boss already got that part 22:07:43 I'm the designer, junior developer, senior developer, dba and everything else you can name 22:07:49 Roberto - any luck with the docs? 22:09:35 I guess I chased him away ... 22:09:36 Ok dumb question of the day. I have a delete statement in a pl/pgsql function static_page__delete that deletes the entry in the static_pages table. When the function is run from OpenACS the row is never deleted and I don't get an error message. If I call static_page__delete(static_page_id) with the exact same id from psql it works. Any ideas? 22:09:38 heh 22:09:51 donb: Trying things with them right now 22:10:15 Cool - I'm looking forward to playing with jade... 22:11:01 Still at it dave? 22:11:02 Dave - two possibilities. The row's not visible in the current transaction (not likely) or something is causing the transaction to rollback, but that should trigger an error. 22:12:09 You can use the "raise" statement in your static_page__delete proc and do a "getdiagnostics" to get the number of rows the delete thinks it deleted to get a handle on whether or not the delete's not seeing the row or is getting rolled back afterwards. 22:12:28 (I'm not sure of the "getdiagnostics" syntax or even the exact keyword off the top of my head, though) 22:12:43 great! thanks. I'll find it now that I know what to look for, 22:13:00 "raise" is the PL/pgSQL equivalent of "ns_log" ... 22:13:13 (though "raise error" really raises and error, too) 22:14:15 "an error" sheesh... 22:16:40 OK, I just looked at the PL/pgSQL doc ... it's: 22:16:55 GET DIAGNOSTICS = ROW_COUNT; 22:17:05 Then you can just do: 22:17:26 RAISE NOTICE "Number of rows deleted: %", 22:17:30 Slick, huh? 22:17:57 great. 22:18:28 get diagnostics is nice 22:19:26 windows.......98........must.....re...boot....... 22:19:30 davb has quit 22:21:47 I'm going to take off, too ... have fun, folks... 22:21:49 donb has quit 22:22:16 lol 22:30:23 * AaronSw disconnects 22:34:29 davb has joined #openacs 22:45:16 that was one long reboot 22:50:20 yeah, norton disk mangler got stuck... 22:52:33 heh 22:52:36 I hate that ;P 22:52:41 I cleaned my hard drives 22:52:47 I got rid of 15 gigs worth of crap 22:53:49 now if I go through and find duplicates of my mp3s I can definetly get about 200 megs more ;/ 22:55:14 moo 22:56:12 I am going to upgrade to Win 2000 I think.
